About Little Welsh Wood

This relaxed, family friendly campsite is perfect for anyone looking to switch off and reconnect with nature. Set in the picturesque Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, ten minutes to sandy beaches. There are two areas onsite, the woodland and the meadow. The grass woodland pitches are with electric, they are perfect for smaller and medium size tents and enjoy gently dappled shade from ancient beech trees. The meadow offers three pitches suitable for very large tents, without electric, and two hardstanding pitches for campervans, with electric. A water point is also nearby. Additionally, there is a glamping bell tent that can sleep up to four people on a comfy double bed and two singles. The bell tent is beautifully furnished and inside you'll have a small dining area. You'll have your own allocated toilet/shower in the cowshed facilities block. Outside you'll have your own picnic area with seating and a fire pit, as well as a covered kitchen area. Glampers who love to stargaze should opt for the geodome, sleeping up to six people in a double bed, two singles and optional additional two singles. Guests will have an allocated toilet/shower in the cowshed. This spacious accommodation has a dining table and see through wall and outside you'll also have a picnic bench, seating and fire pit. Finally, there is the converted horsebox, which can sleep up to four people. There is a double bed above the cab area, and two extra people can also sleep in the living area, although it may be a little tight. You'll have your own ensuite and outside there's seating, a fire pit and grill. All bedding and linen is provided for the glamping units, but please bring your own towels. In peak season you can also enjoy the donkey walk experience. Meet Peter, Paul, Roger and Sean and lead them around the woodland and meadow. Dogs are welcome onsite but please keep them on the lead at all times. Campfires in fire pits are welcome and each pitch shall have its own individual fire pit, just please make sure it stays raised off the grass. Please note that this campsite is part of The Greener Camping Club and so at least one member of the booking party has to be a member. Membership is ยฃ12 for the year and can be bought upon booking.

Little Welsh Wood is open from 01/03 to 31/12.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Meadow Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2023

Beautiful setting, loved the repurposed cow shed shower and toilet building. Super clean tidy and lovely personal touches. Very nice to have our own allocated toilet and shower cubicle, felt very spoilt ๐Ÿ˜Š Mother and daughter hosts have done a fantastic job, they should be very proud. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Site's response

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review, we are delighted to hear you liked our little site. You didn't have the best weather for your stay - when I took a walk around to see if everyone was alright in the pouring rain, you were all 'zipped up' so I didn't want to disturb you to ask if you were okay. I hope you managed to get to Skomer to see the puffins. Please come and stay with us again before too long.

Magical!

Large Tent - Woodland Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2023

A magical little campsite! Host was so welcoming, site was really well laid out and facilities were spotless. Each site was allocated their own shower/toilet in the main block and some sites also had a compostable toilet and shower on site which made our stay with 2 smallies so easy. It was quiet and peaceful and felt very safe for the kiddies. We loved our evening visits to the donkeys. Can't wait to return for another visit!

Site's response

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this lovely review, especially when you are so busy with your two delightful children. Our donkeys love to come and say hello to visitors - or even goodnight to a little man in his pyjamas! Come and see us again before too long.

FAQ

Check-in is available for everyone between 3pm and 8pm, please do let the site know as soon as possible if there will be any delays. Camping pitches must be vacated by 11am and glamping units be checked out by 10am.

Dogs are welcome but there are a few rules. You may bring a maximum of two dogs onto the campsite but they must be kept on a lead of no more than two metres while walking through the site, or on a long lead no more than 10 metres on your pitch. Dogs must never be left unattended on site. You must pick-up and bag any dog mess and dispose of it in bins provided.

BBQs and campfires are allowed but only in the designated areas provided. Please do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. You are not allowed to leave your campfire unattended and do not light a fire if it is windy.

You're welcome to have an awning, gazebo and pup tent on all of the camping pitches, just please do select which ones you want to bring at check out!

Unfortunately, there is no parking directly at your pitch. In good weather, you can drive along the edge of the field bordering the woodland to set up on your arrival and pack up on departure but in adverse conditions and at all other times you must park your vehicle in the yard at the main entrance. Wheelbarrows are provided for hauling your camping equipment. Campervans are permitted on certain pitches but if the ground is considered too soft to drive on you may be asked to park on a hard-standing area until conditions improve.

You will have the option of adding 6amp electric which is enough for small basic appliances.

Set in the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, there are plenty of local countryside and coastal walks for all to enjoy.

There are a couple of beaches within a 15 minute drive from the site, Little Haven which is popular for swimming and paddle boarding and Broad Haven, a shallow water beach.

There's plenty to do in the local area for families looking to keep the little ones entertained. One place that comes highly recommended and is just 25 minutes away, is the Clerkenhill Adventure Farm and Frizbee Golf Course, sure to provide a fun day out for all.

Other nearby activities:

  • Sandy Haven Beach (10 minutes)
  • Phoenix Bowl (10 minutes)
  • Prior Saltings Nature Reserve (15 minutes)
  • Merlins Magic Children's Play Centre (15 minutes)
  • Marloes Sands (20 minutes)
  • Dinosaur Park (25 minutes)
  • St Ann's Head Lighthouse (25 minutes)
