About the site

This is a family-run, dog-friendly, off-grid, eco-farm campsite. Ancient oak woodland trails, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and an inlet of the Tidal Estuary are all within 100m of where you're camping. A far cry from the commercial feel of most campsites, there are only a handful of pitches allocated in each of the two meadow areas and a woodland glade. With wild rabbits quietly grazing around you, you will have a real sense of camping in the countryside, without taking away the luxury. There is the option of meadow campervan pitches, meadow camping pitches (with or without gazebo shelters over the eating area), and woodland camping pitches. Do note, the camping meadow is car free, so wheelbarrows are provided for transporting your things. Every single one of them has a campfire pit that doubles up as a BBQ and a handcrafted picnic bench and the team doesn't believe you should ever feel too overcrowded when you go camping either, so they are nicely spaced apart from the other pitches in the same area. A few woodland camping pitches also have a shelter over the eating area and are more secluded than the field pitches. Arguably, you won't find a place more perfect from which to explore the best of Pembrokeshire's stunning beaches, coastal islands and villages, and activity parks. You also have Tenby, Barafundle Bay, Freshwater West, Dale, St Davids, and Marloes all within a 25 minute drive. There's a great pub within walking distance and the option to have tasty picnic bites delivered to site. Please note the campsite is off grid - therefore there is no electric hook ups.

Facilities include toilets, showers, drinking water, a place to refreeze your ice packs for free and two covered wash-up areas. There is a communal eating shelter in the woodland for those pitches without their own private shelters. The site also features a meadow swing, giant Jenga set, welly wanging, a family games area and heaps of space to play in.

There will also be a solar-powered phone charging station on site this summer too, so whilst you can still escape the hustle and bustle, you don't have to worry about navigating to the various destinations without your trusty Google Maps.

Activity packs for kids and games such as Jenga and dominoes are available on site and there are a range of exciting activities like 4x4 tours, foraging, bushcraft and more.

The nearest pub is just a mile's walk up the country lane, and there are some fab eateries in the local marina (just a five-minute drive from site). The Platter Box Co. is also a fab option, providing delicious picnic-style meals pre-prepared for you and delivered either on-site or set up in whatever stunning location you choose.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Camping Pitch (Shelter)Apr 2025

Overall, it was a great stay but there were a couple of surprises! Love the way the pitches are all spaced apart so you really do have a lot of quiet space. The pitch had a lot more than your usual campsite and would be brilliant for longer stays. The toilets, showers and wash up areas were all great too - the showers especially were quite spacious, with plenty of room for your clothes and to get changed. The way it was set out was brilliant, to feel very secluded but still really close to the facilities. There were a couple of minor bits which probably wouldn't have impacted our decision to book (and we'd definitely come back!) but are worth mentioning. It was a shame the hot tub was listed, especially so prominently, on the advert when the sign says that it is out of action this year. I think we probably would have still came here for everything else the site has to offer, but this was one of the factors we considered, and would expect the hot tub to be removed from the listing if it won't be available for guests to use this year. We also weren't expecting to wheelbarrow our gear to the tent, as we're used to parking next to the pitch. Had we known, we probably still would have chosen the woodland camping as it was beautiful and secluded but it wasn't what we were expecting - so that could also be a little bit clearer for others. It's actually a great idea to have the pitches away from the cars, so you can be more immersed in nature. It may be an improvement too to get a few mini trailers instead of the barrows as well, as they would be a bit sturdier and you could probably load a bit more in them, to reduce the number of trips. But overall, we had a lovely stay. It was great to park under the wind turbines and everything about the site lived up to the eco escape name. See you again!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Meadow Camping Pitches (No Shelter) Apr 2025

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eco Escape Campsite. It's a very peaceful, spacious site that is a true example of environmentally friendly/low impact. All the facilities available are well considered, efficient and clean. It's location is great. With direct access onto the coastal path and also easy access to the rest of Pembrokeshire by car. Our dogs had a lovely time as well and the starter pack of fire wood is recommended - a camping must enjoyed in the fire pit (which each site has). The owners and neighbouring farmer (both who we met) we incredibly friendly and welcoming - sharing some ideas of where to visit and what to do. Will be back for sure!

Fabulous site, a hidden gem
