About Eco Escape Campsite

Eco Escape is a family-run, dog-friendly, off-grid, eco-farm campsite. Ancient oak woodland trails, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and an inlet of the Tidal Estuary are all within 100m of where you're camping. Arguably, you won't find a place more perfect from which to explore the best of Pembrokeshire's stunning beaches, coastal islands and villages, and activity parks. You also have Tenby, Barafundle Bay, Freshwater West, Dale, St Davids, and Marloes all within a 25 minute drive. There's a great pub within walking distance and the option to have tasty picnic bites delivered to site. A far cry from the commercial feel of most campsites, there are only a handful of pitches allocated in each of the two meadow areas and a woodland glade. With wild rabbits quietly grazing around you, you will have a real sense of camping in the countryside, without taking away the luxury. There is the option of meadow campervan pitches, meadow camping pitches (with or without gazebo shelters over the eating area), and woodland camping pitches. Every single one of them has a campfire pit that doubles up as a BBQ and a handcrafted picnic bench and the team doesn't believe you should ever feel too overcrowded when you go camping either, so they are nicely spaced apart from the other pitches in the same area. A few woodland camping pitches also have a shelter over the eating area and are more secluded than the field pitches. Campers are welcome to use the woodland hot tub (this is not presently in use) and firewood, kindling, and charcoal can be purchased on site. Please note the campsite is off grid - therefore there is no electric hook ups.

Eco Escape Campsite is open from 24/05 to 02/09.

Facilities and amenities

Facilities include hot powerful showers, clean drinking water, a place to refreeze your ice packs for free, flushing toilets in both the meadow and the woodland areas, two covered wash-up areas, and a communal eating shelter in the woodland for those pitches without their own private shelters. There is a meadow swing that is a hit with the little 'uns, a giant Jenga set, welly wanging, a family games area and heaps of space to play in.

There will also be a solar-powered phone charging station on site this summer too, so whilst you can still escape the hustle and bustle, you don't have to worry about navigating to the various destinations without your trusty Google Maps.

Activity packs for kids and games such as Jenga and dominoes are available on site and there are a range of exciting activities like 4x4 tours, foraging, bushcraft and more.

The nearest pub is just a mile's walk up the country lane, and there are some fab eateries in the local marina (just a five-minute drive from site). The Platter Box Co. is also a fab option, providing delicious picnic-style meals pre-prepared for you and delivered either on-site or set up in whatever stunning location you choose.

Large Tent - Meadow Camping Pitches (No Shelter) Aug 2023

Loved our stay. Pitch was a good size. Was visited by Keith most days, who is the father of the site owner - he's a great character. Very good location to get to various locations for walks and sightseeing. Would be good to have a bigger fire pit - ours was half a keg. Saw another pitch which had a fire pit in the ground, which looked good. A small solar powered light would be good to have in the kitchen area.

VW-Type Campervan - Meadow Campervan PitchAug 2023

Campsite located down a narrow track which we missed on first arrival, easy to find a place to turn round down the road, sign could do with a bit more visibility, but not an issue for us. Campervan field has space for four vans, each provided with a bench and fire pit, which is very thoughtful. Pitch size is very generous. Grass was a little long for the awning, but it flattened out eventually, just take some waterproof shoes or flip-flops. Toilet and shower facilities we found to be very good, always kept clean. Lovely touch with the information shed. The wind turbine in the next field was a bit noisy but soon got used to it. If you are tenting then be aware you have to park your vehicle away from the pitch-up area, wheelbarrows are provided to take your equipment from the car to the pitch area. Pitches are very generous in size and well spaced out making the site feel relaxed and peaceful. The site is slightly sloping. Some families were there at the time of our visit, but there was plenty of space and noise was not an issue. All in all, we had a lovely time, shame the weather wasn't better.

Great facilities, good location

Medium Tent - Meadow Camping Pitches (5m Diameter) Sep 2022

We camped here for a few nights. The hammock and the shelter were lovely features - the shelter was nice when it rained, although it started to leak within the first hour of the downpour (makes sense). I think the shelter would be lovely during a heatwave etc. Owners don't live on site but visit daily so you'll probably see them around, which added to the feeling of security. The site is very beautiful, the toilets and showers are also brill- nice temperature, etc. Highly reccommend.
